    • SUN 'n FUN Campground will be open for this event beginning Thursday, February 27, 2020 and will close Monday, March 2, 2020.

    • Camping passes must be visible at all times in the RV, Camper or Tent Window.
    • Hookup camping includes electric (30 and/or 50 amp) and water. Some sites also include sewer, but not all. There are a limited number of Hookup Camping sites so please register early. 
    • Dry camping does not include electric, water or sewer.
    • Showerhouses, Portalets and manual dumping stations are available throughout the site. Wifi is available in certain areas and may be purchased upon arrival.
    • Only two pets per camp site are allowed in the Campground and all animals MUST be on a leash if outside the camper.
    • All fires must be in a fire container (grill, metal fire pit, etc.). No Ground fires allowed.

  • Teachers Classroom to the Sky

    Registration will take place at The Lakeland Aeroclub on the Sun 'n Fun Expo Campus.

    • Each teacher may have the opportunity to fly in an airplane with a certified pilot, weather permitting.

    FREE Admission ALL DAY to the Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum. Show your Teacher I.D. and receive one annual membership to the Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum.

  • Portable Planetarium
    • The dome requires a 25’ square footprint, it is 11’ tall, and requires electricity.

    • During the summer months it will be unbearably hot if placed outside so a large, open, air conditioned room will be required.

    • It seats approximately 25 – 30 people at a time and presentations can be scheduled for anywhere between 20 – 30 minutes.

    • There are ten projections available; constellations, earth, biological cells, celestial coordination, solar system, starfield, weather, deep sky objects, plate tectonics, and ocean currents.

    • STEM curriculum for a variety of subjects and grade levels can be provided.

    • You will receive an email/phone call to confirm the date of visit.

  • Educational Field Trip

     

    Thank you for considering a Field Trip to the Aerospace Center for Excellence. SUN ‘n FUN and Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum support year round educational programs at the Aerospace Center for Excellence or ACE Educational Facilities. Fourteen (14) buildings and a Boeing 727 Classroom form a unique learning platform where each building is designed to inspire the next generation of aerospace professional while honoring the past.

    Group Leader Summary:

    • Tours are only available for groups of 15 or more and limited to 50 students per day. Tours may be scheduled over multiple days for larger groups.
    • Please register a minimum of 21 days prior to the visit date. 
    • Tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and scheduled between 10am – 4pm, please check our website for current closures due to scheduled maintenance or facility events.
    • Tours are UNavailable on Thursdays during the months of June and July.
    • Once we receive your request, confirmation of your group reservation will be sent via email. 
    • Field Trips last 1 – 3 hours, depending on grade level and the needs of the group. A tentative itinerary will be emailed to you prior to your scheduled visit.

     

     

     

    General

     

    • Field Trips are divided into stations for distinct educational levels. Teachers determine which stations to pursue, and may customize the tour to their specifications.
    • Lunches may be brought in but food services are not offered on campus. A covered pavilion with picnic tables may be used, but indoor facilities for lunch are not available.
    • In the event that your tour arrives late, it may not be possible to extend the time to allow a visit to each requested station. Your Field Trip will be cancelled if no contact has been made and 45 minutes or more have elapsed from your scheduled arrival time.
